Sincerely grateful, or spurning Japanese?
I'm Mr. Madonna. Or I was. Now, I'm a 38-year-old who thinks he knows what he's seen and heard and is sometimes wrong. But I don't believe I have ever laid eyes on the long-lost "French beach video" for Madonna's "Holiday," which turns out to be a beautifully shot performance piece for a TV show featuring the diva's familiar choreography from that period. It's altogether possible this has been seen by other fans all over the ’Net, but it's new to me and it's a big wow. If I'd found this 15 years ago I would have ruined whatever pants I was wearing at the time. As it is, I'm just happy.
When it rains, it pours: In this video full of rare Madonna moments are some items I've never seen, including a German shout-out and an eye-popping Japanese AIDS-award presentation that has me swooning (visually only...her acceptance is done in an almost mocking tone). I also enjoyed the lengthy footage of her dance instructor Christopher Flynn at the AIDS Dance-A-Thon.
Great stuff. I'll have to check that video site more often.
