i just got home from having drinks with my boyfriend and friends after the rally. we were behind tony kushner for most of the rally once it started moving to columbus circle, so im sorry i missed you. i was hoping to spot you and tell you how much i love the blog. everyone seemed in such good spirits there!
afterwards, my friends and i were talking about how prop 8s passing might have been the wake some of us needed to realize we cant just sit back and let someone else do all the work for us.
im encouraging all my friends to write their state senator here in new york to push for equality. theres no reason we cant get this done here!
so...long comment, but tonight was really great and saturdays going to be even better =)

Hey Matthew...I met you at YAZ posed for a pic w/you Kenneth. Anyway, you tried to hand me a chant sheet last night before the march and I already had one. Then I realized it was you was too embarrassed to go back say hi. Sorry! Love all your pics. FYI: the guy standing in front of Tony Kushner in your photo is ANOTHER Pulitzer-winning playwright — Doug Wright, who wrote I Am My Own Wife Grey Gardens! I tried to eavesdrop on their conversation to see if they were discussing politics or Madonna... -David

hmmm...half of the sentences in my last comment are missing words in the middle. Weird. I forgot to point out that Doug Wright is the guy in the lower left-hand corner of your photo...grey hair, leather jacket.

Pat, I bet not many of us would have had that much courage! It's definitely easier now. Anyone "outside" who made it through the '50s is the brave one!
