Eleven gay bars in Seattle have received the above threatening letter (from here). Gee, good thing this didn't happen to 11 Catholic churches or the media might actually have a big story and the women of The View might have an ideal hot topic.

I guess the perp is from out of the country with the "in hospital" and the big words. But could he/she also be an angry queer? What anti-gay zealot uses the phrase "the gay community" (as he/she did in a note to the paper The Stranger)?

Sounds like a crock of shit to me, these letters. But a crock of shit that would scare the hell out of me if I were a patron or employee or owner of a gay bar in Seattle.

I believe this is a crock of shit too, but still find it disturbing. I live in Seattle - and have lot's of friends that go to these eleven bars, myself included every once in a while. It's nice to know that the "gay community" has pulled together here to raise awareness. I don't have plans to go out this weekend, and I wouldn't be scared either way. But I do hope that everyone pays close attention to their drinks and themselves - not only this weekend but every day. Seriously, there are some crazy mother fuckers out there. Just take care.
