The girls of summer.
Via Pink: Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA" seems to me like a pretty cynically constructed summer party confection with its Jay-Z and Britney references and what to me sounds like a very Lily Allen (and very un-Miley?) vocal...but unlike Madonna's own

cynically constructed summer party confection "Celebration,"
it's sure clicking with the masses considering it just debuted at #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 with over 225,000 copies sold. In the same way that
Miley helped Madonna's "4 Minutes" go viral on YouTube, she has endorsed a gay, Fire Island Pines take on "Party in the USA" by Tweeting it.(Meanwhile, on the copyright front...why isn't this video banned by YouTube for using an entire song? I know it's kinda a parody but...not intentionally!)
The video of these fun-loving, gay-embracing skinny bitches (hate you all!) will either make you smile or will make you really, really, really cringe...after the jump...but it's kinda incredible how okay gay is with the Miley Cyruses of the world (don't forget this girl believes the rapture is upon us)...
Great. More fem gay men showing America we are not masculine. Do any of these guys even have a penis?

Keep your homophobia to yourself.

Let's not make fun of them for being fem. Let's make fun of them for having shitty taste in music.

The video is cute (LOVE that the boys had to put their names at the end -- who are they, ME???).
The vocals, however, honestly began to HURT my ears. And why does "carefree summer ditty" seem like it's 10 minutes long?

Why h8 so much? They're cute and it was a fun video. The video was better, really, than the song. But it's a silly, fun song, so no harm.

Worrying about your masculinity, tsk, tsk, it's not really that butch, is it?

I thought it was mostly well done. there were a few corny parts but the guys are not bad looking. :)

omg OUCH... as for the stereotypes fem is fine --- vapid sterotype - not so much (and please I am gay I know how sad it is how men WORK to fit into this sad little mold for acceptance from the Fire Island/Ptown gay narcissistic elitists - not to be celebrated)
Of course gay elitist Andy Towle had to report on something Fire Island related as I am sure it is his fav spot to meet with his rovolting a-gays.

I think what semi-icks me out about this kind of thing is the group silliness, not effeminacy or someone seeming gay. On that, I know what you're saying, RJP3, because that would fall in line with the vapidity thing.
But they do look like they had fun, and I'm the first to admit I am a MAJOR stick in the mud on these things in person. Like, don't expect me to clap along if asked at a concert, etc.
As for criticizing everyone who enjoys Fire Island or Ptown, I feel like that's just as stupid and cookie-cutter as the people you're trying to criticize—it also makes you sound incredibly bitter and weird to be bitching about "rovolting [sic] a-gays." I'm not a Fire Island person (that I know of...never been, but it doesn't attract me), but if Andy is an "a-gay" then sign me up—he's a thoughtful and intelligent person.

Sure they're cute now, but show me these same guys in 20 years.
There's nothing wrong with being 50, unless you're acting 20! LOL
At the same time, kudos to them for being so comfortable with themselves and not giving a damn what people think.
One question.
Do average looking people ever allowed on Fire Island?

LOL, Crispy!!! So true!
So yes, while it's annoying that this stupid song is the hit of the Summer and Celebration was completely ignored by U.S. Radio,
we have to remember that Miley is a teenager and this is who is buying music and requesting it on the radio. Madonna's fans are not teeny-boppers and we have better things to do with our time then buy 50 copies of her albums to get her to #1 (hello Mariah fans!!) or call radio stations and email/text them to beg them to play Madonna songs, when they just won't. Unfortunately Madonna is never going to have another #1 single in the U.S. and we are just going to have to live with it. VERY sad, but true. I used to spend so much energy getting upset about it, but you know, Maddy isn't worrying about it, so why should we??

Why does everyone try to intellectualize this fun little video...it really made me smile, which is the point. Chill out guys!
