The Wrong Train Has Left The Station Comments (3)

PreviewScreenSnapz001 The great songwriter Ellie Greenwich passed away today at the very young age of 68. (The same 24-hour period as Ted Kennedy and Dominick Dunne, who covered murders so well because his own daughter, Dominique Dunne of Poltergeist, was choked to death by her boyfriend.)

Ellie was best known for songs like "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Then He Kissed Me," "Chapel of Love," "River Deep, Mountain High" and of course "Leader of the Pack."

But to me, she'll always be the woman who wrote "Right Track, Wrong Train," which was criminally left off of one of the greatest pop albums ever, Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusual. Instead, it was a B-side for the "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" single...but who knew Cyndi ever performed it live???:
