She's Just Following Ancient History

Queen Latifah's closet is so shallow I'm surprised the door will even close sometimes—now she's been photographed enjoying a stripper's fully nude act at a private, all-female house party. National Enquirer (September 14, 2009) says these parties are regular and "there's a lot of drinking at these gatherings and lots of music. Some of the ladies get so amorous that they pair off together."

Never mind that nobody calls women "ladies" and calls "horny" "amorous" anymore, and never mind that she looks more than just drunk in the candid photo—this is still rather who-cares behavior for someone who isn't proud or brave enough to say she's gay and move on.

i had no idea she was in the closet. i would have sworn she was out. on one hand it's sad she isn't, but on the other, as you say Matthew, if she isn't proud or brave enough to come out in 2009, then who cares, it's her life. i can't help feeling a bit pissed though, thinking of all the people that DO come out at the peril of losing their family or job, and she can't give an ounce of support by coming out too.

I don't object if a celebrity chooses not to come out but I do ojbect when they deny the fact and basically add to the shame that still exists around homosexuality for many.

That said, maybe she's bisexual.

While it is nobody's business, people in the spotlight IMO have a moral obligation to help the kiddies that are too afraid to come out..
