Jonathan I. Katz, the proud homophobe and climate-change denialist who was chosen to be on President Obama's panel of scientists charged with investigating the BP oil disaster, has been dropped from the project following appropriate outcry from LGBT activists (chief among them AmericaBlog, which at this point lives two steps ahead of every false step the Commander-in-Chief makes). Good riddance to rubbish science. Meanwhile, I'm sick of everyone using a nearly 40-year-old picture of the guy (seen at left), so I dug up this faculty shot from Washington University. He's a bigshot there, so is probably one of the dudes in the front row...maybe dead center in the gray vest?
