It's not exactly breaking news that Adam Carolla is a total douchebag, but his anti-gay comments on his show were beyond the pale—and not at all rooted in humor. "When did we start giving a shit about these people?" he mused, and GLAAD (and all non-Neanderthals out there) were not amused. They called him on it, and his response was a terse:

"I'm sorry my comments were hurtful. I'm a comedian, not a politician."

In other words, "Fuck you."

Well—and I say this as a comedian—go die, Adam. But becoming a politician again, I'd say, "That apology doesn't go nearly far enough, and there's very little you can say or do when it's obvious these are not jokes but are just rank homophobia and exactly reflective of how you feel."

This whole "I'm a comedian!" defense is meaningless. It might help if what he said was funny—or, in context, was even trying to be.
