If your meet was half as entertaining as this post, I'm green with envy!

I also absolutely loved this: "(How did I end up with someone who thought for a second I was going to miss a chance to meet and speak with Madonna?)" LMAO

J.J.

Did you mean to set the video to private? What does it show? We can't view it.

Brad

insanely happy (and a wee bit jealous)--- dreams come true!

Richard M.

Oh Matthew! I am absolutely green with envy. This is so exciting. I have often fantasized over the years that I'd eventually meet her. And until that happens, I'll continue to live vicariously through you.

My favorite line: Madonna would always be 25 and I would always be 15. I think that perfectly sums up part of my love affair with her. She's the one icon that I've admired so long, whether it was uncool - I remember being teased in high school, but I didn't care - or not. Truth or Dare was my first exposure to gay men and ultimately taught me (and I'm sure a generation of gay boys) that being homo was just fine.

As always, your blog is a great read. I look forward to it. Thank you!

Matthew Rettenmund

Thanks, all. J.J.: Sorry, it's just a short audio snippet of Madonna saying my name lol; I had it uploaded a month ago and set to private because I couldn't post any of this until week of release for W.E., which finally drops on the 3rd, this Friday.

Luigi Saturnino

Awesome!!!
I hate you even more now! LOL
Congrats Matt!

Ben

All I can think to say is:

Awww

bluecandyboy

So jealous, but happy for you :-)

MikeinSJ

Fantastic! I'm so happy for you, Matt. I can't think of anyone who deserved to be there, more than you.
So glad you were there to 'represent' all of us who worship Madonna. :-)
Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to your review of W.E. as well!

Rodrigo

WOW, so cool! I can't even imagine being in your position!... OK, yes I can, I would probably let everyone else ask the questions and I would stare nonstop; Every time she would look at me, I would smile at her like a little kitty that wants some patting!! Please Madonna!! pad me in the head!!! LOL

What did you tell Jose after the interview? Does he read your blog? How could he think you were going to miss meeting Madonna? Paris is always going to be there... an opportunity to meet Madonna doesn't happen every ahh decade??? Also, we are a thousand times more jealous that you met Madonna than that you went to Paris hehe!

tomasvzqz

Awesome Matthew! you're almost as awesome as Madonna :-)

Colleen

Sooooo cool!!

S.

It was so hard not to stop screaming (in my head) when we hung out during TIFF. I mean, it's freakin' Madonna.

Marty

So happy for you, Matthew!!! =)

And it made for compelling reading, too, as is habit for you.

Me

Aww, this was such a great read. I laughed so much. I'm really happy for you Matt!

Kevin

Been waiting for this, & it was so worth the wait!

So pleased you finally got what we all really want, and so jealous of course! Here's to the next meet...

Michael

Solid!

Dean

It is so great to read your story, I am looking forward to hear it all.
Great read!

Felix

LOL. loved the audio!

Tomi Luka

What can I say? Dreams do come true. I'm happy for any fan to meet Madonna, but we're all lucky that said fan happens to be a great writer! I'll start a Facebook campaign to get you a 1-on-1 with her!

Tony

What did Madonna smell like? :-)

Santi

what a nicely written and engaging account of what clearly has been a very important meeting for you. If anyone deserved to meet M it is you, many congrats! This reminds me of some of the best stories of that book I Dream of Madonna, except this is a dream come true! Now you know how I felt when I briefly met you :)

Sam

So why has Abbie Cornish been totally absent from any promotion for the film? Its hard not to notice.

John

Congratz Matt. I absolutely felt your excitement just reading this and I am so happy you finally met her. I know seeing her exiting Sound Factory oh so many years ago will be my only run in with her but I can meet her in a small way through you. I love that she asked for the bracelet afterwards and they told her no. I mean who tells Madonna no??? LOL

DesperateArtist

I almost got a little teary-eyed reading this post. Matthew, would you describe this as the highlight of your career, thus far?
