W.E. tells the story of two fragile but determiend women—Wally Winthrop and Wallis Simpson—separated by more than six decades. In 1998, lonely New Yorker Wally Winthrop (Abbie Cornish) is obsessed with what she perceives as the ultimate love story: King Edward VIII's abdication of the British throne for the woman he loved, American divorcée Wallis Simpson. But Wally's research, including several visits to the Sotheby's auction of the Windsor Estate, reveals that the couple's life together was not as perfect as she thought. Weaving back and forth in time, W.E. intertwines Wally's journey of discovery in New York with the story of Wallis (Andrea Riseborough) and Edward (James D'Arcy), from the glamorous early days of their romance to the slow unraveling of their lives in the decades that followed.
This is actually a really hard question. I happen to really like her version of "American Pie," which seems to be somewhat unusual, and "I'll Remember" holds a place in my heart because it's the only time I can remember not knowing she had a knew song coming out, and actually being SURPRISED by hearing new Madonna music on the radio. I'm also a big fan of a number of "Die Another Day" remixes, but I think I'm ultimately going to have to go with one of the English/Spanish remixes of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina."
True story: I was 20 years old and dancing my ass off to DCFMA at one of three gay bars in Lexington, KY, where I once lived, when my contact lens popped out of my eye. Without missing a beat, I stooped down, FOUND THE LENS on the floor instantly (and before it got crushed) and was making my way to the bathroom to put it back in when somebody stopped me to tell me they heard that Princess Diana had been killed. Anyway... DCFMA is my answer.

This is a hard question and one I'll probably be crucified over but ... I had just broken up with my on-again/off-again boyfriend and was moving to Phoenix to start anew.
As I was driving the 31 hours straight through I listened to "Miles Away" and bawled while listening to it on repeat.
Don't get me wrong, I'm an old school Madonna fan but I still can't hear that song without an "ache" in my heart.

My favorite Madonna movie song is "Into The Groove" from 'Desperately Seeking Susan' -- it epitomizes everything great about Madonna - sassy, fun, hook-laden and daring you not to dance. Plus, musically, it shows off her vocal range and its lyrics articulate ideals that resonate with people of every age.

My favorite Madonna movie song is I'll Remember from With Honors. I love its sound and vibe and think it is one of Madonna's most underrated songs. I also love her sleek, sexy look in the video and thinks she looks great with black hair!

My favorite is Crazy For You from Vision Quest. I was 13 when this came out and I was just beginning my long love affair with Madonna. I still love this song.

"Into the Groove" from "Desperately Seeking Susan" never fails to cheer me up and get me groovin'. It's just happy 80's pop music at its best.

The W.E. poster should be subtitled "From Here to Paternity, life with Madonna before 50."
Madonna really connects to "Live to Tell." Whenever I hear that song on the radio I have to listen to it like it's the first time.

"Into The Groove". It's the ultimate Madonna song from the ultimate Madonna movie. Hot off the heels of "Like A Virgin", when this song hit you just knew she was gonna be really big. I can still remember my 13-year old self thinking this is nothing like I'd never heard before. It felt like it was the first "club song" EVER.

my favourite madonna movie soundtrack song has always been i'll remember. the reverberating beat is gorgeous and she sounds lovely here. this song is very severely underrated! it should have definitely been included in celebration. the 1994 troika of rain-i'll remember-secret converted me from casual listener to die-hard fan. crazy for you is a close second and die another day for the bronze!

Okay, okay. This is a little off...but...I'd have to say CAN'T STOP. The movie WHO'S THAT GIRL came along at a time when I was reaching the height of my adolescent Madonna obsession. I love her deep voice throughout the chorus, the singable refrain, and the awesome 'outro' when she sings "just can't help myself!" It's a silly little song made from the same ingredients as CAUSING A COMMOTION, but it makes my day every time I hear it. Plus, I always picture her driving the Rolls in the movie and jamming to this tune...racing the train...Griffin Dunne freaking out...and then she opens up her leather jacket and all the cassettes she stole from the mall fall out. Oh, the 80s...

Wow. I was just reading through the previous posts and a few had mentioned ones I hadn't even thought of. I think I'm going to go with ‘The Look of Love’ from the WTG soundtrack. I really enjoy her songs from that soundtrack quite a bit - Causing a Commotion and Can't Stop rounding out my Top 3 for that album. I love it do to its haunting background music and (seemingly) introspective lyrics.

"This Used to Be My Playground" from "A League of Their Own". While one of her sadder songs, it is a great one to sing along with, and it always takes me back to my childhood and leaves me with a wistfulness about what could have been if life and relationships hadn't taken the path they did.

Paradise (not for me). The lyrics can be interpreted in several ways, and it's such a non-conventional pop song. The performance at the Confessions Tour with the cherry tree background and Isaac Something singing live. Perfect.

I recall a drunken night at the club while I was pursuing a graduate degree in music (I quit that to become a full-time homosexual) that I began lecturing to my partyin' friends in a slurred professorial voice that "Into the Groove" was built on a basso ostinato. Was so drunk that I didn't realize that practically every dance single at the time was....
But my favorite has to be the little tune, mostly forgotten, that was tacked on to "Evita" for her and released as a single - "You Must Love Me". It connected to me on two fronts - how the Argentinians felt about controversial Eva Peron, and how the public felt about controversial Madonna taking this role. It is a gorgeous song, perfect in its simplicity. I may have never finished that masters' degree, but ah am educamated enough to venture the opinion that this song is the closest Madonna ever came to recording an "art song".

This is a tough one, there are so many I love. At this time I would have to say, "Into The Groove" from Desperately Seeking Susan. It is from a time when I started falling for Madonna, hardcore & have not looked back since! Whenever I hear it, I can't help but to want to dance!!! The song definitely lives up to the title!!!

"Into the Groove" from Desperately Seeking Susan, a fantastic movie with great music. The script and the cast were terrific and the film and music are still wonderful 27 years later.

My favorite is "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina". I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Evita soundtrack and it reminds me of an exciting time in my life when I had just moved to a new city and got my first really good job. When I play that song and it's remixes it takes me back to driving around Indianapolis in the middle of autumn(my favorite time of year)1996 and enjoying my job and new apartment and new friends. No matter how depressed I might find myself at times, I can pop that cd into my car and immediately feel better. It was a great Madonna era.

I absolutely loved "The Look of Love" from "Who's That Girl". She really should have released it as a single. She sounded phenomenal and I loved the overall sound of the song. You could also feel the emotions behind her voice in the lyrics. Hands down, my favorite!!

"I'll Remember" from With Honors is my favorite just because it is.

It was hot summer of 1992 ... the last real Madonna video was steamy Justify My Love video. Almost year and a half later her huge fanbase was expecting the new Madonna. And she didnt dissapoint. Instead of seeing her in underwear, as a mysterious sex kitten with a headache we got a lady in long dress standing, seating, singing a beautiful song "This Used to be My Playground" - it was all about her voice and true emotions. Exactly 20 years after its release this song has the same impact on me like before. I am moved everytime ...

My favourite one is Time Stood Still from The Next Best Thing movie.
Since I am not a native English speaker, lyrics are not the first thing I get. I usually get a general impression of the song so I went " Oh my gosh, this is the perfect LOVE song: it's this lavish, sweet ballad...she sounds like an angel, it's got to be my love song!"
Than, somehow, I translated it... : )

No question, my favorite soundtrack song is "I'll Remember" which is is one of her best songs and videos period. I happened to be graduating high school in the same time this song came out. Its message is perfect for that time in your life. The song stands the test of time and I think it is one of her most underrated and often forgotten masterpieces.

Hard, hard choice! Into the Groove is obvious, and remains my favourite Madonna song. But her soundtrack ballads are brilliant: I'll remember, Look of Love, Live to Tell, This Used to Be My Playground, You Must Love Me...
I'm going to go for Time Stood Still too. Melancholic Madonna at her best.

"This Use to be My Playground"...so beautifully sang and fits the movie perfectly!

"Time Stood Still" from "The Next Best Thing" is my favourite song from a film and one of my all-time Madonna favourites. Not only because of it being one of Madonna's many hidden gems but it is a timeless beautiful ballad, not unlike "Masterpiece". I actually admire her for not releasing it as a single in 2000 as it is a rare gem, released into the world with no fanfare which encompasses Madonna's mantra that it has "always been about the music." Stunning and wonderful :)
