I asked Chaz Bono at the GLAAD Awards if his being in the 'bloids all the time was a net positive for LGBT people just for the sheer visibility—he didn't buy it. But while National Enquirer (May 7, 2012) isn't trying to fight our good fight with an article about how Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are duking it out over the Melissa Etheridge/Tammy Lynn Michaels split, I still think it's progress of some sort that this venerable tab, aimed squarely at the birther and/or near-deather crowd, spends a whole page talking about a lesbian couple choosing sides in the break-up of another lesbian couple. Probably all made up, though.

Though perhaps the word "catfight" would argue against it being progress in any other way.
