UPDATE: The shooter is said to be 28-year-old Floyd Corkins, a man who was described by law-enforcement officials as appearing "mentally disturbed." Doesn't sound like much of an activist type, sounds like a nut. Even if he had been the former, he is definitely the latter. Activists' motto is, "Hey-hey, ho-ho, your policies have got to go," not, "Prepare to meet your maker." P.S. The presence of Chik-FIl-A in his bag is bizarre.

The Family Research Council shooting this morning—denounced immediately by 23 gay groups—is being treated as a case of domestic terrorism—a phrase that's becoming all too common. But is it really fair to suggest that because one deranged person opens 

fire at a conservative group, liberal philosophy is to blame? Hardly. Our side is against violence, their side is advocating kidnapping children from gay parents, denying rights to gay people, and in some cases (such as via support for the "kill the gays" laws in Africa), killing gay people.

I feel so sorry for the wounded guard, who fended of the attacker heroically, and I am 100% against the shooter regardless of motivation. I do not advocate using guns against my ideological enemies.

But don't feed me bullshit that your hatred makes you a martyr and your martyrdom makes you right.
