Ahead of this part of her journey, Madonna has felt the need to issue a statement spelling out why she uses guns in this show. I don't see the producers of, oh, every movie ever made feeling pressure to similarly explain their intentions. But Madonna is, as always, a lightning rod. Even when she isn't looking for trouble, it finds her. I'm sure most of the critics clucking their tongues over MDNA's guns aren't very offended by the use of guns in other forms of entertainment.
