When Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro said of Lady Gaga, "This slut is influencing many, many children," he was blowing off steam over that footage of her smoking pot onstage. Gaga didn't even have to say a word before Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer came to her defense, calling her a powerful advocate and "a symbol of individuality and artistic expression."

Now Gaga is thanking Stringer, tweeting:

"You show political integrity + a modern vernacular."

Modern or not, he at least knows that a "slut" is not what you call someone who smokes pot. At least get your slurs right.
