Keep Feeling Fascination

GaGa (complete with her semi-recent nosejob and chin implant) is looking lovely, and yet also very Mae West in this pic with Barbara Walters. She was interviewed by the legendary tearjerker as one of 2009's most fascinating people—it airs December 9 at 10PM. 

For doubters, yes, GaGa has had help:

All those veils and sunglasses and all that other headgear helped. Bully for her, she looks mucho improved. Yes, the pic on the left is real.

A Different View

The ladies of The View—I like Barbara, I love Whoopi and especially Joy, I agree with Sherri about half the time (and despise her the other half)—made merciless fun of Madonna for being egocentric in her speech about Michael Jackson at the Video Music Awards. I was surprised they were unified in this take because while there was definitely a group out there who saw it that way (Twitter started out anti- before quickly turning pro-, SNL's Thursday edition slammed her), the overriding sentiment was that Madonna did a surprisingly warm and resonant speech, something that touched people not used to being affected by Madonna in the slightest.

Now, La Toya (who Madonna herself made merciless fun of with Arsenio Hall when that Playboy spread came out) has just as warmly and sincerely embraced Madonna's speech, defending her against Joy in particular. Interestingly, La Toya reports that her mother thought the speech was "incredible," too.

On the Jackson kick, I can confirm that those rumors of a Janet meet-up at Butter were completely fabricated. I've also confirmed that Madonna and Janet never so much as said hello at the VMAs—Janet left immediately after her performance.

Resent Developments

Barbara Walters resents Rosie O'Donnell saying that The View ladies secretly don't like each other. Of course, if she'd come out and said she resented Donald Trump's mistreatment of Rosie O'Donnell back in the day, Rosie wouldn't have joined Star Jones in trashing the show repeatedly!

Whatever—I actually like Barbara Walters, love Joy and love Whoopi (Sherri and especially Elisabeth are dead to me), but I'll always be Team Rosie. Even when she's annoying and loud and wrong, I like Rosie. But in response to Barbara's response, Rosie posted this hilarious video:
