How am I not ghost-writing Belinda Carlisle's tell-all book Lips Unsealed: A Memoir? It's coming May 11, 2010, from Crown and you just know it'll be dripping with coked-out kernels from her early years, diet tips from her starving years and catfight post-mortems galore. It's already around #22,000 at Amazon eight months out. I can't wait!

Go-Go Gone-Gone

One reason Dancing With The Stars is ultimately no "better" than American Idol—it's a talent show that doesn't reward talent. America likes to vote for the people they're most familiar with, or who they can relate to or who has the most compelling personal story. Sometimes, the obvious worst of the lot are repeatedly spared out of sympathy. How else to explain the admittedly dance-challenged Belinda Carlisle being booted ahead of Steve-O, Steve Wozniak or that awful, stiff athlete (there's always one big, bulky athlete who seems to get voted into safety for weeks each season)? They simply weren't mad about her.

Like I've Never Felt Before

Belinda Carlisle says, "Physically, I'm in the best shape I've ever been in my life," forgetting the "Mad About You" period through the '90s. But she looks pretty sturdy so I hope she excels on Dancing With The Stars...even if I hate her fake-haired partner and they have all the chemistry of a pair of wax figures in this photo from In Touch (March 16, 2009).

Totally Awesome '80s: Solid Crap

Love The Go-Go's and love "Get Up And Go," but wow, poor chicks having to perform in front of those ridiculous '80s dancers. Will Belinda pull out these moves for Dancing With The Stars. I shudder seeing Marilyn McCoo bopping along to this song!

Will Contestants Do The Pony? The Watusi?

What's with the granny gown?

Oof, Susan Lucci and Jane Seymour looked so much better than the younger Belinda Carlisle when they did Dancing With The Stars...and they had rhythm! Methinks it's going to be a hard thing to watch for Go-Go's fans, even if they can swallow the former punk princess gamely attempting a waltz live on national TV. Good luck, Belinda—we're still mad about you.

The new Dancing With The Stars lineup has been announced, and it has some doozies:

Belinda Carlisle—Love 'er.

David Alan Grier—Can't stand 'im.

Jewel—She's a fraud as an artist, but we knew that.

Shawn Johnson—Seems sweet!

Lil' Kim—Effed up in every possible way.

Gilles Marini—Please don't be gentle.

Ty Murray—No opinion...they still have rodeos???

Steve-O—His name was announced and I appreciated what Sully felt when the birds hit.

Nancy O'Dell—Seems an unfair way to get great coverage on her show.

Denise Richards—Disgusting pig! I think Heather Mills had more goodwill.

Lawrence Taylor—No opinion.

Chuck Wicks—No opinion.

Steve Wozniak—LOVE him!

My main interest will be in Belinda Carlisle—newly a spokeswhore for NutriSystem—whose dancing has always been either chunky-girl hopping with major handwork or that Mad About You Ann-Margret swiveling. But I'll also probably follow for Gilles Marini of Sex & The City movie fame and I do love me the Woz. Steve-O will be a lukewarm mess and Lil' Kim will probably expire on the stage. Should be fun.
