President Barack Obama met with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and toured parts of the state battered by Sandy. Both men had high praise for each other's response to the disaster, with Christie saying he "can't thank the president enough" for his compassion, concern and pro-active approach while Obama told New Jersey residents "your governor is working overtime."

UPDATE: Are you fucking kidding me? The preacher introduces Gov. Chris Christie (R-New Jersey) and everyone gives him a standing O? Fuck that. The dude who just vetoed marriage equality at the funeral of a woman who was at the very least closeted as a bisexual if not as a lesbian...speechless.

I was no Whitney Houston fan (well, I was—a long time ago), but I do genuinely feel bad for all the people so deeply affected by her work and therefore by her passing.

New Jersey passes marriage equality, only to have it vetoed by useless human slug Chris Christie. Disappointing, but then so was the statement put out by Steven Goldstein of New Jersey's Garden State Equality—he rightly called out Christie's veto as "a brutally anti-gay act, pure and simple," yet started out by arguing that Christie doesn't have "an anti-gay bone in his body" (it's all political) and mentioning that Christie is a straight shooter who does what he says he'll do, for better or worse.

Christie isn't running (in 2012). How long after the nominee is, uh, settled upon do we hear veep speculation? And why was this announcement treated with the gravity of President Johnson announcing he wouldn't see re-election?
