"I Think It Is Fine You Are Gay" Comments (0)

Don+Philip
I was very interested to hear that Don Philip had a reunion on X Factor with Britney Spears 13 or so years after they did the duet "I Will Still Love You". Philip apparently came out to Britney on the show, to which she replied, "I think it is fine you are gay."

I interviewed him at the time Britney's debut album dropped and just remember him as being a bit prickly—not really warm and fuzzy. I later saw him walking in Chelsea and it clicked that he was probably gay and uncomfortable with being pitched as something he wasn't. Regardless, I hope he found some relief in speaking with Britney again and suspect he's in a better place now. Would be great if this kick-started his singing career. Talented guy.

Gay-Acting Comments (1)

Thirty-four-year-old gay-acting straight man Steve Jones, who will be the Ryan Seacrest for Simon Cowell's U.S. version of X Factor, once made a black dildo from a mold taken of his own dick, wishes he could be as promiscuous as we all apparetnly are and plays a mean naked guitar.

Madonna—represented using images from her music videos for "Vogue," "Die Another Day," "Frozen," "Music" and "Hung Up"—is featured at the end of a new X Factor ad, whose theme is that some people have an X factor while others do not.

SafariScreenSnapz002 The acts who have "it" are: Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Lady GaGa and The Pussycat Dolls. (Aren't the latter broken up?)

The show comes to the U.S. this fall. Perhaps Madonna will be attached to it in some way since her likeness is being used?

Ad after the jump...

The **** Factor Comments (8)

UPDATE: It's since been fixed = yay.

Joe McElderry, the luscious X-Factor crooner who came out as gay last week, also posted a heartfelt message to his fans about the momentous event. Oddly, the message never uses the word "gay," just says that all those articles fans are reading are true and refers to his sexuality.

It might not be that he's afraid of the word "gay" so much as the fact that his own Web site is...the message board automatically censors "gay" as if it were a curse word:

Kudos to McElderry overall, but get on that Web master stat!

Trending Topic: Whitney Beats Cancer Comments (11)

"Whitney" is trending #1 on Twitter—even higher than the various "beat cancer" phrases—for what consensus says was a drugged-out, wardrobe-malfunction-marred performance on X Factor that was bolstered by too much feedback...but to me, this is nothing near the disaster that was Good Morning America (which could have been retitled Earth to Whitney). I mean, yeah, the dress pops open in the back and there IS a lot of vocal help, but it seems fine if you like Whitney...?
